Each curricular area has identified standards for learning that guide classroom instruction and assessment. These standards articulate the skills, knowledge, and understandings we believe all students need to become educated, responsible, and productive citizens. Standards represent the essential understandings in the subject area discipline. Student performance towards these standards is measured by classroom assessments and state testing including PSSA and the Keystones.

Through a dynamic curriculum renewal process, the core curriculum of the Columbia Borough School District is revised regularly to ensure that the curriculum is aligned with identified Pennsylvania Academic Standards and designed to meet the needs of learners in the 21st Century and to make them college, career, and life.
