On Wednesday, the 8th graders of the Columbia Middle School-Hill Campus took a trip to historic Gettysburg, building on what they've learned about the Civil War this year in Social Studies class. It was a warm day but the students provided lots of positive feedback regarding their experience!

Mini-THON students toured Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital to see their fundraising efforts in action! Makenzie Kuhn, Miya Helm and Kayla Hess, accompanied by Mrs. Eckman Wissler, had a chance to meet staff psychologists, tour one of the research labs meeting researchers and doctors and meet one of the Four Diamonds chaplains. It was an amazing experience for the students, inspiring them for next year's event! FTK!

Following an extensive selection process, Elijah Cooper has been chosen as the new Head Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach, and Tyrell Keyes will assume the role of Head Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach. Elijah Cooper brings a wealth of coaching experience and a passion for the game to his new role as Head Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach. With a proven track record of success, Coach Cooper is poised to lead our boys' basketball program to new heights and instill a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Tyrell Keyes, our new Head Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach, is known for his outstanding leadership qualities and commitment to player development. Coach Keys' expertise and dedication will undoubtedly have a positive impact on our girls' basketball program, empowering our student-athletes to achieve their full potential both on and off the court. "We are thrilled to welcome Elijah Cooper and Tyrell Keyes to our coaching staff," said Marvin Sanders, Director of Athletics and Activities "Their leadership, experience, and passion for the game make them the perfect fit to guide our varsity basketball teams to success. We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on our student-athletes and the entire CBSD community." Upon board approval, both Coach Cooper and Coach Keyes will begin their roles immediately, preparing for the upcoming basketball season and working closely with our student-athletes to cultivate a culture of excellence and achievement.
